Project: Barn Conversion – Semington, Wiltshire

JW Tiling was proud to be part of this stunning barn conversion, delivering over 200sqm of high-spec tiling that complemented both the building’s character and modern finish.

Scope of Works:

• Main Area Tiling (180sqm):
900×600 stone-effect porcelain tiles were chosen for their durability and natural aesthetic. These were expertly laid across the main heated screed floor, with careful set-out and seamless expansion joints that provide essential movement tolerance without disrupting the visual flow.

• Internal Courtyard (20sqm):
A striking patterned porcelain tile was used in this unique space, adding contrast and texture while remaining in harmony with the surrounding materials.

• Shower Areas:
Two showers were tiled using large-format 1200x1200x6mm porcelain, installed over a full waterproof tanking system to ensure long-term integrity and performance.

• Bathroom & En-Suite Floors:
600×300 porcelain tiles provided a clean, practical finish to the two bathroom floors, enhancing their modern functionality.

Installation Details:
• Anti-fracture matting was installed throughout on to the heated screed substrate.
• Waterproof tanking membranes were used in all wet areas prior to tiling.
• Seamless expansion joints were integrated strategically to meet best practices for large tiled surfaces and underfloor heating, without compromising visual impact.
• Precision set-out ensured flawless transitions and symmetry throughout the project.
